Sinking Cities.....................

Sinking Cities
With the growing threats due to climate change – rising sea levels, devastating storms and tidal flooding – it's no mystery why some of the world's most iconic cities and natural wonders are at risk. And while there's no clear-cut answer on the rate at which many cherished places the world over will be underwater, with the impending long-term effects of climate change – including the melting polar ice cap – we have a very narrow window before there will be dramatic repercussions, says Costas Christ, Chairman of the National Geographic World Legacy Awards and sustainable travel expert. "We have a window of 10 or 20 years at most before we set in motion the temperatures that we can't turn back," he says.
Happily, the outlook isn't all bleak. Our travel choices and actions make a difference, Christ says. "What can we do as travelers? We can choose those companies that are practicing and embracing sustainability," he explains. By rewarding companies that are substituting plastics, generating less waste, offsetting their carbon footprint, using renewable energy and supporting national parks and fragile ecosystems, among other sustainable practices, we can advance conservation efforts, travel responsibly and have a positive long-term impact. With that in mind, here are six cities starting to submerge, and expert-endorsed tips for limiting your carbon footprint and aiding conservation efforts on your next trip
Miami Beach, Florida
With frequent coastal flooding and high tides in vulnerable, low-laying areas, it's no surprise Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale and other areas across southern Florida are at risk of sinking into the ocean at a fast rate. At only about 3 feet above sea level, Miami is particularly susceptible to flooding. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change projects that sea levels could surpass 3 feet at the turn of the century and some studies suggest daily flooding could lead to a rise as high as 6 feet. And according to a 2015 report from the Risky Business Project, an estimated $15 billion in property across Florida could be threatened by accelerated sea levels. Undoubtedly, increasing sea levels and flooding will impact Florida, but on the upside, hundreds of millions of dollars have been funneled into the city of Miami to raise sea walls and elevate streets, among other forward-thinking preventative measures, to protect Miami Beach.

whoever disdain................

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant of Allah , nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to Himself all together.
And as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards and grant them extra from His bounty. But as for those who disdained and were arrogant, He will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or helper.
O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.
So those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him - He will admit them to mercy from Himself and bounty and guide them to Himself on a straight path.

-The Holy Qur’an 4:171-175

fatal health ..................................

The Drunkest (and Driest) Cities in America
WALL ST. – 24/07
Alcohol poisoning and alcohol-related liver diseases are major contributors to the recently identified spike in mortality among middle aged, white Americans. Alcohol is the fourth leading cause of preventable death in the United States, claiming nearly 88,000 lives a year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Excessive drinking can take the form of binge drinking or heavy drinking. The CDC defines binge drinking as consuming four or more drinks for women and five or more drinks for men during a single sitting. Heavy drinking is defined as some 15 or more drinks consumed per week for men and eight or more drinks for women. Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to serious and often fatal health consequences. According to the CDC, negative health outcomes associated with heavy drinking include liver disease, neurological damage, and cardiovascular diseases.
To identify the U.S. cities with the highest and lowest excessive drinking rates, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the percentage of adults who report binge or heavy drinking across 381 metro areas. Metro level data were aggregated from county level data provided by County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute joint program. All data are as of the most recent available year. Median household income and poverty data came from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. The number of bars per capita came from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Health outcomes, including the number of potential lives lost per 100,000 people due to premature death annually and the percentage of adults who report fair or poor health were also aggregated from county-level data obtained from County Health Rankings & Roadmaps.
America's 20 drunkest cities
Burn Fat – Alcohol : According to a report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, women are considered "heavy drinkers" if they have eight or more drinks a week and men can have 14. Take a look at the 20 drunkest cities in America.
Without further ado, the Top 20 heaviest drinking cities in America, and the corresponding percentage of adults that drink excessively in them:
·         Appleton, WI – (26.8%)
·         Oshkosh-Neenah, WI – (26%)
·         Green Bay, WI – (25.6%)
·         Madison, WI – (25.5%)
·         Fargo, ND – (25.2%)
·         La Crosse – Onalaska, WI – (25.1%)
·         Fond du Lac, WI – (24.6%)
Drinking is fun. It’s that simple. Wine, beer, and liquor can all taste fantastic if chosen well and in sufficient quantity they’ll all get you buzzed. But at what point does tasty alcohol stop tasting like something? At what point does a mild buzz turn into a hazy numbness? At what point does tipsy pleasure turn into a whirlwind of terrible dance moves and poor texting choices?
If you can’t answer these questions yourself, we know who can: someone from Wisconsin.
At least according to the list of The Drunkest (and Driest) Cities in America released over the weekend by 24/7 Wall Street and compiled using data from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. It turns out Wisconsin is home to a staggering 7 of the top 10 drunkest cities in the country, and 12 of the top 20. “Drunkenness” per city was measured by the percent of the population that either binge drinks or drinks heavily throughout the week –respectively 4 to 5 drinks in a sitting or 15 or more drinks per week.
This means that a bunch of people living in Wisconsin’s twelve heaviest drinking cities are likely to be able to ask the questions posed at the beginning of this article. They know what it is like to over drink. In fact, after reading the list of drunken cities from 24/7 Wall Street, it seems feasible that Wisconsinites no longer get tipsy like the rest of America. Have they become immune? On second thought, maybe they can’t answer right now…

Alcohol is strictly prohibited in Islam
What is said regarding the one who regards an alcoholic drink lawful to drink and calls it by another name.
They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is a great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess [beyond needs]." Thus Allah makes  clear to you the verses [of  revelation] that you might  give  thought. – The Holy Qur’an 2:219.
And of mankind is he who purchase idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah thout knowledge and takes it (the path of Allah, or the Verse of the Qur’an) by way kof mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-Fire) – The Holy Qur’an 31:6.
 Narrated Ibn 'Umar(RA):
Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever drinks alcoholic drinks in he world and does not repent (before dying), will be deprived of it in the Hereafter."  - Shahi Bukhari: Vol.7, No.481
Narrated Abu Huraira(RA):
On the night Allah's Apostle was taken on a night journey (Miraj) two cups, one containing wine and the other milk, were presented to him at Jerusalem. He looked at it and took the cup of milk. Gabriel said, "Praise be to Allah Who guided you to Al-Fitra (the right path); if you had taken (the cup of) wine, your nation would have gone astray." - Shahi Bukhari Volume 7, No.482
  Narrated Anas(RA):
I heard from Allah's Apostle a narration which none other than I will narrate to you. The Prophet,  said, "From among the portents of the Hour are the following: General ignorance (in religious affairs) will prevail, (religious) knowledge will decrease, illegal sexual intercourse will prevail, alcoholic drinks will be drunk (in abundance), men will decrease and women will increase so much so that for
every fifty women there will be one man to look after them." - Shahi Bukhari Vol.7, No.483

From behind .....

In the name of Allah The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad.
 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress there from - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon.
And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers.  Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated.  [ Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."  [Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased.  [Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."
 [Allah] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved."
 [Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path. Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."  [Allah] said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together." The Holy Qur’an 7: 1-18.

(The Statement of Allah: “And We shall a set up balance of justice on the day of resurrection” –V-21:47)
